Criteria for TILE Classroom Designation
Assignment Priority for TILE Classrooms
Adopted by the LSEC 12/20/2010
The TILE class combines active-learning pedagogy, enabled by technology and class equipment configuration. The University of Iowa is committed to effective and efficient use of the TILE space. To that end, allocation of the TILE spaces will be prioritized according to the following list:
- Full time faculty (tenured, tenure-track, clinical facutly and lecturers) who have participated in TILE training and are teaching (a) undergraduate students; (b) graduate students; (c) professional students.
- Graduate students who have participated in TILE training.
- Faculty who have agreed to use active-learning pedagogies in their classes.
In all cases, classes that reach a 60% seat fill have priority over classes that do not reach at least 60% seat fill.
